Today's Featured Drink:

Easy Traditional Red Sangria

½ medium apple (cored, skin on, chopped into small pieces)

½ medium orange (rind on, sliced into small pieces, large seeds removed // plus more for garnish)

3-4 Tbsp brown sugar (or 3 Tbsp cane sugar as original recipe is written)

¾ cup orange juice (plus more to taste)

⅓ cup brandy (plus more to taste)

750 ml bottle dry red wine

1 cup Ice to chill

Add apples, oranges and sugar to a large pitcher and muddle* with a muddler or wooden spoon for 45 seconds. Add orange juice and brandy and muddle again to combine for 30 seconds. Add red wine and stir to incorporate, then taste and adjust flavour as needed. I added a bit more brandy, orange juice and brown sugar. Stir to combine. Add ice and stir once more to chill. Serve as is, or with a bit more ice. Garnish with orange segments.  Store leftovers covered up in the fridge for up to 48 hours, though best when fresh.

*Muddle - mix (a drink) or stir (an ingredient) into a drink

Yes yes I know it's been too long since I've done a post but business has kept me busy!  Lots of new things coming in the new Premier Wrestling seasons coming up. We've finally got a start date for Overload Season 15 (Sept 8, 2022) and the newly named Attitude (NAW) Season 5 (Sept 5, 2022)! But for now let's all enjoy what's left of the Summer!

Today's Featured Drink:

Classic Chelada

12oz Mexican lager (light, golden pilsner-like style such as Modelo)

1½ limes or 2oz freshly squeezed lime juice*

coarse rimming salt (mostly for the glass and a pinch to flavor the cocktail)

ice cubes (optional, if using only a few is recommended)

Run a lime wedge along the rim of a glass to wet it and dip the rim into a shallow dish filled with salt. Squeeze the lime juice directly into the glass. Use a citrus squeezer for best results. Add a pinch of salt and stir. Pour the beer and be careful to stop in time before it makes contact with any salt on the inside rim of the glass (it will fizz up excessively and may overflow). Stir and garnish with a slice of lime if desired.

NOTES:

Chill beer and limes before using.

* A typical lime yields about 1.5oz of juice.

Today's Featured Drink:

Devil's Margarita

1½ oz blanco tequila

1oz lime juice, freshly squeezed

¾ oz simple syrup

½ oz red wine

Garnish: lime wheel

Add the tequila, lime juice and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until well-chilled. Strain into a cocktail glass. Float the red wine on top by slowly pouring it over the back of a bar spoon so it pools on the surface of the drink. Garnish with a lime wheel.

 Monday August 8, 2022 we lost another great one. Dame Olivia Newton John was one of  my first favorite female artists.  Grease is also one of my top 5 favorite musicals and I think I know most of every line in it since I've watched it so many times! RIP Sweet Sandy! But, oh, those summer nights..

2oz Pineapple Juice

.25oz Simple Syrup

.25oz Lemon Juice

.25oz Lime Juice

Umbrella

Pour all of the ingredients except for the garnishes into a shaker tin.  Shake with ice and strain into a Hurricane glass filled with fresh ice.  Garnish with a pineapple wedge, a cherry and a cocktail umbrella.

 Where in the world is Fyre at now? Did she take a wrong turn when she left the UK? Maybe she's hunting for The Ace to give him a piece of her mind regarding his actions last season.  Or is there something else that has brought her to the desert? Keep watching for things to come!

.75oz Lime Juice

1oz    Tamarind purée

Top with Squirt (Grapefruit Soda)

Tajín salted rim

Grapefruit slice for garnish

Add all ingredients, except for Squirt, into a shaker with ice.  Shake to chill and combine.  Strain into a collins glass that has been rimmed with Tajín and filled with ice.  Top with Squirt. Garnish with a grapefruit slice.
